We don't run a gym.
We build people.
The iron is just the tool.

The EP
Principles

01
Progress Over Performance
We don't train people to compete — we train people to improve. Every cycle is designed around measurable progress. Stronger this block than last. Fitter this year than last. That's the only metric that matters here.
02
Community Over Competition
The person next to you isn't your competition — they're your reason to show up. EP has always been built on people, not programs. The community here is the product. The training is just the vehicle.
03
Substance Over Trend
We don't chase whatever's popular this month. Evidence-based strength and conditioning has worked for decades — and it works here. Structure. Cycles. Progression. Coaching. That's it.
04
Look Good. Perform Better.
Aesthetics aren't shallow. Wanting to look better is a completely legitimate goal — and it's completely compatible with wanting to perform better. We don't make you choose. You get both.
05
Everyone Starts Somewhere
The intimidation of walking into a new gym is real. We remember that. There are no prerequisites to joining EP — no base fitness, no experience, no right body type. The door is open. Show up.
06
Coaching That Owns the Result
Anyone can count reps. A real coach engineers the outcome. At EP, every session is led — not just supervised. You're coached through every movement by people who take full ownership of your progress.
Coach Chris Eaden at Eaden Project Fitness Christchurch
2014 Founded in Christchurch

Started by
a Coach.
Built by a
Community.

Chris started EP in 2014 with a degree in Sport Recreation from Lincoln University, a background in strength and conditioning, and a simple belief: that people deserve better than what most gyms offer.

Not random workouts dressed up as programming. Not machines lined up in silence. Not another place where you're left to figure it out alone. EP was built from day one around coached, structured, community-driven training — and it still is.

What started as a small group has grown into one of Christchurch's most loyal fitness communities. Members who joined in the first year are still here. That's not a coincidence — it's the culture.

Every decision at EP — the programming, the pricing, the way the gym runs — comes back to one question: does this make our members better? If the answer is yes, we do it. If not, we don't.

A Gym That
Feels Like
Home.

Walk into EP and the first thing you'll notice isn't the equipment — it's the vibe. People know each other's names. Coaches know your goals. Nobody walks in a stranger for long.

There's a reason members don't just train here — they bring their partners, their kids, their friends. EP becomes part of your week in a way that goes beyond fitness.

Oh, and you'll be greeted by Beauden — our gym dog, and probably the most beloved member on the floor. He sets the tone better than any welcome sign ever could.

This isn't marketing language. It's what happens when a coach genuinely cares about the people he trains — and builds a space that reflects that.
