Six training pathways. One philosophy. High-impact functional training on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; low-impact strength and engine work on Tuesday and Thursday; plus personal coaching and Jr.EP.
Most gyms give you random workouts dressed up as a program. High-intensity chaos that feels productive but delivers inconsistent results. You're busy, not better.
EP is different. We run a structured strength and conditioning program built on cycles and progressive overload — the kind of science-backed methodology used by real athletes. Every session has a purpose. Every week builds on the last. You don't just train with direction — you get measurably stronger, leaner and more capable over time.
And unlike performance-only gyms, we don't ignore the mirror. We believe looking good and performing well are the same goal. You'll get both.
"Look better. Perform better. Ready for anything."
EP Train is our flagship group class — and it's nothing like what you've tried before. This isn't a workout-of-the-day guessing game. Every session sits inside a structured training cycle, building on the last, testing you at the end of every block so you can see exactly how far you've come.
We program for the complete human — strength, conditioning, movement quality and body composition. You'll build muscle and burn fat in the same program because that's how the body actually works when it's trained intelligently.
Classes are coach-led, community-driven, and fully scalable. Whether it's your first week or your fifth year, you'll be challenged at the right level and coached properly through every movement.
"Pure strength. Better shape. No wasted impact."
EP Strong is our Tuesday and Thursday strength-focused class. This is where we strip away the chaos and focus on building real strength, better positions, more muscle, and a physique that looks like it trains.
The bias is strength and aesthetics: controlled lifting, smart accessories, progressive loading and coach-led technique. You still work hard, but this is not a high-impact conditioning day.
Perfect if you want to get stronger, look better, build confidence under load, and keep your body fresher between the bigger EP Train days.
"Build the engine. Recover faster. Work longer."
EP Engine is where we build your aerobic capacity and specific mixed-modal fitness without beating your joints up. Think machines, carries, controlled intervals, repeatability, pacing, and smart conditioning domains.
This is not random sweat for the sake of it. The goal is to improve how well you can hold pace, recover between efforts, and keep working when everyone else starts falling apart.
It pairs perfectly with EP Strong on the same night, or stands alone as the engine-building session your week is probably missing.
"EP Train stimulus. Condensed for lunch."
EP Lunch Train is the shorter, sharper version of the EP Train stimulus. Same intent — no fluff, no wasted time — condensed into a 30-minute lunchtime format.
We take the main intent of the day and condense it into a lunch-friendly format so you can train hard, shower, and get back to work without your whole day disappearing.
This is ideal for busy professionals who want structure, intensity and consistency without needing a full evening session.
"Most PTs count your reps. Chris changes your body."
There's a version of personal training where someone stands next to you, counts to ten, and calls it coaching. That's not this.
Working with Chris means working with someone who understands exactly why your body is or isn't changing — and knows precisely what to do about it. The programming, the load, the stimulus, the recovery, the progression. Every variable is deliberate. Every decision is backed by real exercise science and over a decade of hands-on evidence.
People come to Chris when they've tried everything else and it hasn't worked. When they've been injured and need someone who actually understands how the body rebuilds. When they're a serious athlete who needs a serious coach. They stay because they get results they didn't think were possible.
No templates. No guesswork. No motivational fluff. Just intelligent, individualised programming that produces real, visible, measurable change — and a coach who can explain every single reason why.
Most coaches back off when injury enters the picture. Chris leans in. He understands how the body compensates, where secondary dysfunction hides, and how to build load progressively through recovery without setback.
Clients come to Chris after being told to "just rest" — and leave with a body that performs better than it did before the injury. The goal is never just to get back to baseline. It's to come back better.
This requires real knowledge, real patience, and a coach who is willing to take full ownership of the outcome. That's what you get.
Generic fitness does not solve specific problems. Individualised strength and conditioning does. Chris has spent years solving real training problems — injury history, movement limitations, performance gaps and confidence issues — which means he programs for the person in front of him, not a generic template.
He's developed athletes across motocross, netball, ice hockey, rugby and more. The common thread isn't the sport — it's the methodology. Build the physical foundation, then layer sport-specific qualities on top. In the right order. At the right time.
If your sport requires more of your body, Chris programs for that requirement precisely.
Wanting to look better is a legitimate goal — and it deserves a coach who treats it seriously, not one who hands you a calorie target and calls it a plan. Real body recomposition is a physiological process. It requires the right training stimulus, appropriate volume, managed recovery and lifestyle factors working together.
Chris understands every layer of that process. He knows why the body holds fat, why muscle doesn't grow despite effort, and what actually needs to change for the result to follow. No fads. No shortcuts. Just the real work, done in the right sequence.
People who've tried everything and seen nothing — this is where that changes.
If you want a coach who will take full ownership of your result — not just your session — this is where you start.
Enquire About PTOver 12 years developing young people through fitness. Jr.EP isn't a side program — it's a cornerstone of what we do, and one of the most established junior fitness programs in Christchurch.
Most kids' fitness programs focus on keeping children busy. Jr.EP is about developing them. There's a big difference. We teach the foundational movement patterns — the squat, hinge, push, pull, carry — that underpin every sport and every physical activity they'll ever do.
Beyond the physical, we build confidence, discipline and resilience in an environment that's challenging but never overwhelming. These aren't just gym skills. They're life skills.
